We provide a secure, transparent process that turns redundant IT equipment into educational opportunity for local schools — with full data compliance and traceable reporting at every stage.
Redundant IT is collected using licensed, GPS-tracked vehicles. Every item is logged on arrival and tracked under our secure chain-of-custody process from pickup to final disposition.
All customer IP is eliminated before any device is reused or donated. Data is wiped to NIST SP 800-88 Rev.2 standards, accounts unlinked, MDM profiles unenrolled, and asset labels removed. Certificates of Destruction are issued per device.
Each device is assessed and graded by our technicians for reuse, resale, or recycling. This ensures maximum recovery value, WEEE compliance, and that only fit-for-purpose equipment reaches schools.
Refurbished devices are donated directly to local schools, or resale proceeds are reinvested to purchase new classroom equipment — credited under the donor organisation’s name.
Three flexible participation models to turn your redundant IT into educational opportunity — all GDPR-compliant, fully traceable, and community focused.
All models include GDPR-compliant data destruction, GPS-tracked logistics, and documentation for ESG and CSR reporting.
Answers to common questions about donating or repurposing your IT equipment through Connected Classrooms.
The program is open to all UK-based businesses, schools, and public sector organisations looking to donate or repurpose redundant IT equipment responsibly. We prioritise partnerships that support schools local to your operations.
We accept laptops, desktops, monitors, tablets, and most standard IT hardware. Servers, networking gear, and peripherals are also accepted, subject to evaluation for reuse, resale, or recycling suitability.
Yes. Every device is securely wiped or physically destroyed according to GDPR, ISO 27001, and NIST SP 800-88 Rev.2-aligned controls. Certificates of Data Destruction are issued for your compliance records.
Connected Classrooms offers three models: Repair & Donate (you cover processing), Partial Sale & Donation (costs recovered through resale), and Resell & Reinvest (we sell and reinvest proceeds into new school equipment). You can choose whichever suits your CSR or ESG goals.
Yes, wherever possible. We prioritise schools in your local area and can work with you to identify preferred recipients. All donations are traceable, and we provide confirmation once deliveries are complete.
Absolutely. You’ll receive a complete Impact Report including data destruction certificates, donation details, and ESG metrics such as CO₂ savings and reuse volumes. You’ll also receive PR materials for your own CSR reporting.
