We are pleased to announce that TFix has successfully achieved Cyber Essentials certification, demonstrating our commitment to safeguarding customer data and maintaining robust cybersecurity practices across our operations.

Cyber Essentials is a UK Government–backed standard that helps organisations guard against the most common online threats. For a company like ours, which processes IT assets, WEEE recycling, and RMA handling, security is critical—not just for compliance, but for maintaining trust with our customers and partners.

What is Cyber Essentials?

Cyber Essentials is a technical security standard managed by IASME on behalf of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). It focuses on five key areas of protection:

  1. Firewalls and network security

  2. Secure configuration of devices

  3. User access control

  4. Malware protection

  5. Security update management

There are two levels of certification:

  • Cyber Essentials: a verified self-assessment against core security controls.

  • Cyber Essentials Plus: an advanced audit with hands-on technical testing.

TFix has successfully achieved the Cyber Essentials certification, a strong first step in demonstrating effective controls and readiness against cyber threats.

Why It Matters to Our Customers

Earning this certification means more than a badge—it gives our customers and partners confidence that:

  • Our systems are protected against common forms of cyberattacks.

  • We take data protection and information security seriously.

  • We meet security requirements often expected in supplier contracts, especially with government-related work.

For our international clients who rely on us for asset recovery, RMA handling, and recycling, Cyber Essentials provides an additional layer of assurance.

You can view our certification and other key compliance documents at our Information Documents page.

Our Approach to Certification

The assessment required us to review and document all user devices, operating systems, network configurations, and cloud services. We strengthened controls where necessary and confirmed compliance across our business.

Key actions included:

  • Ensuring all devices are configured securely and fully patched within 14 days of updates.

  • Applying multi-factor authentication to all critical services.

  • Validating that firewalls are active across office and remote-working setups.

  • Restricting user permissions to reduce risks of unauthorised access.

By treating the entire organisation as in scope, we ensured that every operational process—whether in-house, remote, or cloud-based—meets the certification standard.

What’s Next

Cybersecurity is not a one-off exercise. Achieving Cyber Essentials is part of our broader strategy to continuously strengthen IT security and resilience. We are committed to maintaining and building upon this foundation, ensuring that our customers’ data and assets remain secure.

We look forward to pursuing further accreditations, such as Cyber Essentials Plus, as we continue to enhance our information security practices.
